FriendlyCare President, Ms. Teresita D. Panganiban in her closing remarks, summarizes the key notes of the EPIC workshop with the stakeholders from DOH regional offices, JHPIEGO and LGU health offices. The workshop was recently held and hosted by Philippine Society for Responsible Parenthood in cooperation with the Department of Health with the support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). It contained lectures and training sessions on demand generation, skills enhancement and service delivery of Family Planning using implants. The Expanded Program for Implanon Contraception (EPIC) aims to complement the existing national approaches and strategies to address Maternal Mortality Ratio and achieve Millennium Development Goals in the Philippines. The project’s goal is to provide 250,000 implants in 18 months with Implanon which is effective for a 3-year contraception Family Planning method.
