FriendlyCare is Certified to Facilitate Mindfulness Wellness in the Workplace


Tita Angangco (seated second from left), the Executive Director of The Centre for Mindfulness Studies (CMS) and Tim Warner (seated beside Tita), brought their CMS faculty to the Philippines to train 22 learners from FriendlyCare Foundation, Ateneo-Bulatao Center for Psychology Services and UP Diliman Faculty, to train and certify them as facilitators of Mindfulness programs. CMS Faculty Director, Dr. Patricia Rockman, seated (3rd from left) and CMS Faculty Lead for Corporate Programs, Michael Apollo (seated next), conducted the week-long intensive Mindfulness training sessions with lecture, modeling, group discussion, inquiry, homework, teach-back and mindfulness practice. Joining the CMS faculty are then certified learner-facilitators of FriendlyCare who will conduct the Mindfulness-based Wellness for Stress Reduction program in the workplace to individuals and corporate clients (seated from left): Dr. Mila Chu, Iris Trinidad, Rosalie Operaña, Teresita Panganiban (FriendlyCare Foundation President) , Annalyn Alhambra, Dr. Alex Legarda; (standing from left); Lucy Fernandez, Janneke Agustin, Rinna Soriano and Idelyn Esagunde. This Mindfulness training program is a partnership between FriendlyCare Foundation and The Centre for Mindfulness through the grant from Grand Challenges Canada.

FriendlyCare Foundation, Inc. is launching its latest healthcare service offering – the Mindfulness-Based Wellness for Stress Reduction in the Workplace.   This is a whole new health and wellness program of FriendlyCare especially designed for the people in the workplace who are apparently prone to stress and anxiety.

FriendlyCare Opens its 7th Clinic in Tacloban

FriendlyCare Tacloban clinic is now open. The newly opened FriendlyCare Birthing Home and Family Health Clinic located in Calanipawan Road, Sagkahan District, is the seventh clinic branch of FriendlyCare and the first birthing home of its network of healthcare clinics.


The official opening of the birthing clinic was held in December 8, 2015 with ceremonial ribbon-cutting and clinic house-blessing attended by FriendlyCare and its donor-partners Philips and Peace and Equity Foundation, Inc. with invited guests from the Tacloban City Health Office, district barangays, and other support groups.

Filipinos for Filipinos – Toward a Healthy and Happy Filipino Family

FriendlyCare Foundation, Inc. recently received from Atty. Julio and Mrs. Dading Macaranas, a cash donation for a program that will help carry out its founding mission of providing quality and affordable reproductive and family health services to the Filipino families. The donation was received by FriendlyCare Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ma. Isabel Ongpin, and FriendlyCare President and Chief Executive Officer, Teresita Panganiban.


The cash donation will be allocated for the implementation of a family planning program in an identified poor rural community that needs reproductive health education, counseling and FP service provision. Atty. Jules Macaranas in his brief message to FriendlyCare during the ceremonial donation receipt, also pledged to continue his support in the year to come to help sustain FriendlyCare’s family planning program toward healthy and happy Filipino families.



Atty. Macaranas, a retired Washington lawyer and legal editor, who was born in his family home town in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines has been coming back and forth in the country to support his kababayans in the area of health and education by donating cash and scholarship funds to deserving Filipinos in need.
